Position Overview
The Monitoring Officer will be responsible for ensuring that project activities are effectively monitored, evaluated, and documented in line with donor and organizational standards. The position will play a key role in ensuring data accuracy, facilitating learning, and maintaining accountability to beneficiaries and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a project-level MEAL plan aligned with organizational and donor requirements.
- Support in designing and using data collection tools for beneficiary verification and activity monitoring.
- Conduct regular field monitoring visits to ensure timely and quality implementation of activities.
- Maintain an updated database of beneficiaries and project indicators.
- Collect, compile, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data for reporting and learning.
- Ensure that feedback and complaints from beneficiaries are properly recorded, addressed, and reported.
- Facilitate post-distribution monitoring (PDM) and satisfaction surveys to assess project impact.
- Coordinate with technical and field staff to ensure data-driven decision-making.
- Support preparation of periodic MEAL reports, success stories, and lessons learned.
- Promote gender-sensitive monitoring and community accountability throughout project implementation.
- Support in documentation and sharing of good practices and learning across the team.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in MEAL or project management roles within humanitarian or development settings.
- Experience in emergency response projects will be an advantage.
- Strong skills in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Familiarity with MEAL tools, beneficiary feedback systems, and mobile data collection platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal, coordination, and communication skills.
- Fluency in Pashto and Urdu; English proficiency is desirable.

Duration and Duty Station
This is a short-term position for one month, based in District Buner, with frequent travel to field locations for monitoring and verification.
